This week was a big deal for C.C., and for our whole family for that matter. This week, C.C. left home for the first time and went away to outdoor school. Monday was Memorial Day and we got to start the week home as a family, but Tuesday she headed off to camp.
I was a little worried about her going since she has been struggling with some unidentified health challenges involving chest pain and difficulty breathing, but after getting an inhaler from her doctor, she felt like she wanted to give it a try. She was away from Tuesday until Friday. I worried the whole time, but I stressed to her that she could ask to call home if she wasn't feeling well and as the days went on, I assumed that "no news was good news".
On Friday afternoon, I picked up a happy, smiley girl. She had a great time and couldn't wait to tell me all about the experience, the food, the songs, and all the things. Since she is not here to report on it all, rather than try and recount all the things she told me, I will just share the pictures she took and let them speak for themselves.
For those of us that stayed behind, life continued on as a normal. We had softball practice and games, summer basketball tryouts and work. We have just 1.5 weeks until summer, but who's counting?
