Grandpa and Lollie Come to Visit

This post is very ironic because one of the main reasons I write this blog is to let the out of town family (Grandpa and Lollie) know what is happening around here.  Well, today they are here but I am taking time away from them to write this blog.  We are just having so much fun that I have to take a minute to record it so we all remember.

Yesterday, Grandpa and Lollie got here early in the morning.  We had a big breakfast all together and then Jeremy, Merrick, and Jeff drove to Seattle with the whole Lundberg side of the family for a Mariners game.  This left Carrigan, Elsie, Carolyn and I to have a girls crafting day of fun.  We started at Michael's and bought felt, 3D white chocolate candy molds in the shapes of a unicorn, llama, and unikitty, and a make your own puzzle.  We came home and crafted our hearts out while Elsie napped.

In the afternoon we went to Hobby Lobby and bought more crafting supplies, went to Red Robin, and to Menchies for frozen yogurt.  It was just about the perfect day.

As for the boys, they really enjoyed the game and Merrick came home with a stack of probaby 50 baseball cards.  The ushers at the ballpark hand out baseball cards if a kid asks for one.  Merrick said he and his cousins walked the entirety of the ballpark asking the ushers, sometimes multiple times, for baseball cards.  One usher told the boys, "This is the second time you have hit me up for cards.  Follow me."  He took them to the room next to the entrance and gave them a stack of cards, they each got 12 from that usher, and he told them he didn't want to see them again.  It was a long day full of burgers, root beer floats and baseball.  They rolled in just after midnight.

Right now everyone is outside talking to Jensen and Carrigan and Carolyn are making terrarium necklaces.  We are having a blast.  What a way to send off summer!

Vacay/Staycay

So a few weeks ago I had a post with only one sad little picture, well, this week and last I am making up for that in spades...

This week we had a really nice vacation/staycation.  Jeremy took Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday off of work and we went to Great Wolf Lodge.  We have been there lots of times, but this was Elsie's first trip (outside of the womb).  The other big change is that Carrigan was super brave this time and went from only doing the baby slides last time to doing all but one slide now.  Mostly Jeremy and I took turns staying with Elsie and going on slides with the other two.  Also this year Jeremy and Merrick did the four story obstacle course with ziplines and rope climbs.  They had a serious blast!

Friday, night we got home from Great Wolf just in time for Emily's birthday BBQ and that was just the beginning of a fun weekend staycation.  On Saturday, Jeremy took Merrick and Carrigan to Dave and Busters while I let Elsie have a much needed nap at home.  Then we all went to a Hillsboro Hops baseball game.  Merrick went over to the bullpen during warm ups and got a ball for both himself and Carrigan and during the game he got a foul ball for Elsie.  The Hops ended up losing but it was the perfect night of baseball nonetheless and the kids even got to run the bases after the game.

Today we wrapped up the staycation with a hike to Mirror Lake.  It is at the base of Mt. Hood and a moderate two mile hike rewards you with a gorgeous lake and beautiful views.  As we were leaving Carrigan asked if we could go back soon and I sure hope we do.

We just have a few days now until school starts but after the memories made this week I think I am ready.
