Home Run!

It's a beautiful Sunday afternoon.  We are in an intermission between baseball games.  The first game didn't go our way.  Despite Merrick having a phenomenal season from the mound, we just don't have a deep enough pitching roster to really perform well in our tournaments up to this point.  Merrick will pitch tonight in our last game so hopefully that will go better.  The big baseball news from the week came earlier in the week when we played against the other West Linn team.  Merrick was the first pitcher and only got to pitch one inning (everyone only got one inning).  He had two strikeouts and a pop out.  Then, at the end of the game, magic happened.  On a 1-0 count at the plate, Merrick got a piece of a pitch and took it a yard.  It was his first legitimate, over the fence homerun.  It was amazing and it literally made our week!

The other excitement for the week was yesterday I bugged out of Merrick's game a little early to go to see my brother, Brendon's, concert.  It was an interesting match up of events.  It was a motorcycle show, an art show, and a concert.  Brendon had art he was displaying and his new band played.  I haven't seen one of his bands play since high school so it was fun to see.

Short and sweet today, I gotta feed my family so we can get back to the baseball field.  Before I go, here's a cute picture of my girls sleeping with an entire litter of stuffed dogs.
