New Life- Weeks 70, 71, and 72 (Summer Ball)

So obviously this blogging thing has been getting away from me lately.  The last three weeks we have been consumed with the wrap up of summer baseball.  Two weeks ago we were in Tacoma.  I think I may have mentioned this before, but everywhere we go this summer session, we are plain and simply out sized and out matched.  Since we are a team of mostly 11 year old with a couple of 12 year olds sprinkled it, playing in 12u tournaments has been rough.  Tacoma was no exception, we got crushed game after game.  On top of that we played on terrible, unmaintained dirt fields, in the scorching afternoon heat.  Also we ran on no sleep and Elsie fell off the bed in the hotel.  It was rough.

Last weekend we were in Eugene.  Again, we lost all of our games, but at least we had one game that was really close (we actually should have won).  The weather was much nicer and we were able to play in the morning.  It was a fun weekend of baseball and even more fun hanging with the team.  Since we stayed just out of Eugene, in Springfield, we also got to see the Simpson sites. Elsie even made a little friend with one of Merrick's teammate's little brothers.  The only downer part of that weekend was that Merrick's teammate, Sean, took a hard hit in the first game and was out with a concussion and black eye.

This weekend we had our last tournament and this time we got to stay local.  Not only did we get to stay close to home, but the weather was beautiful AND today we actually got a win and took 2nd in our division (we even got a plaque to prove it). It was a good way to wrap things up.

Now we get a little break before Fall Ball.  Hopefully we can use the time to get back on top some things at the house before the next round.  Here are a few non-baseball photos from the past couple of weeks.
