Fall Lite

It has officially been Fall for a few weeks now, but so far the weather has been kind this year.  September was unusually rainy, but October has been unusually dry (and warm).  The last week or so it has been particularly dry and sunny so we decided to take advantage and head to the pumpkin patch, in shorts none the less.

We were a little more restricted in time this year than in years past (Jeremy had to study in the morning and had made plans for my birthday that evening, but more on that next week) so we stayed closer to home and went to Lee Farms just down the road.  None of us had ever been there, but they were doing a Groupon for the corn maze and I had read they had lots of other activities so we decided to give it a shot.

Since we were tight on time, and already had paid in advance, we decided to do the corn maze first.  Initially Merrick was really into it, choosing which way we would go at each fork, but over time his excitement waned and eventually we realized he thought the corn maze was not the activity, but an obstacle to get through in order to get to the activity.  Eventually we did make it out of the maze and Merrick asked if "we could go do the fun part now".

So on to the fun part we went.  Merrick went on some different slides and on a tractor pull ride and we all enjoyed some fresh apple cider and pumpkin and apple cider doughnuts.  By the time the "fun part" was done, we were all tired and ready to go home.

I was mentioning to Jeremy how we never went to pumpkin patches in Arizona, but it is almost a right of passage into Fall here and it was the perfect day with such un-Fall like weather.
