Halloween 2012

This was a great Halloween all around! It was a preschool day and we had a little party. The kids wore their costumes, we made jack-o-lanterns, ate popcorn and watched "Spookley the Square Pumpkin". While the energy level was a little high, it was a really enjoyable day.

Halloween evening was just as enjoyable. Jeremy got home around 6pm, just as the cousins were arriving. We ate a quick dinner while the rest of the troops costumed up. In the end we had a pink haired witch, a glow man, a clown, a knight, a race car driver, a tiny tiger, and of course our handsome fireman. While we all headed out about the same time, we ended up with just the Brown's. Colvin wanted to take in the sites and take his time, Quincy wanted to run from house to house (because there was candy at stake), and Merrick was somewhere in between.

After about an hour the Brown's were ready to head home and Merrick, just like last year, was still roaring to go. We went to another 4 or 5 houses and decided that even if Merrick wanted to keep going, we were done. Even though he protested, part way home he said "I'm tired" and Jeremy ended up carrying him a bit.

At home Nana had warm pumpkin chocolate chip cookies and hot chocolate waiting for us. Perhaps the best part of the whole night is that from the time we stepped out the door to the time we reached the doorstep on our return, it did not rain.

Maybe it is because I am surrounded by preschoolers all day, everyday, but I have really been looking forward to Halloween this year and fortunately it lived up to the hype.
