This week we have been starting to get into the Christmas spirit. It's officially December and its Christmas everywhere you look. At home, Carrigan has created a homemade advent calendar and is passing out stickers each day to mark the countdown.
This week we also got a little crafty. We decorated ugly Christmas sweater cookies. Carrigan took her time in designing hers. Merrick decided that he could get the cookie in his mouth faster if he used the dump method. He was so fast at making and devouring his that I didn't even get a picture.
The girls and I also made rice snowmen. This coming week, with my church young women, we are having a craft day and the snowmen are one of the craft we will be doing so it was good to get a little practice under my belt. The hat and sweater for the snowmen came from cutting the sock apart and cutting the heal out. The girls thought the leftover part looked like a mask so they decided to get creative with it.
Carrigan also had a church activity this week. They made marshmallow temples and ate marshmallows and hot chocolate until they were sick.
We ended the work week with a Christmas movie for "Family Movie Night". It was a cheesy one we found on Netflix and the boys weren't what you would call into it. Jeremy found the movie much more enjoyable if he watched it through his Snapchat filters.
This weekend was full of basketball. Merrick's team went 4 for 4 and won the tournament with some very dominate wins. Today, we played the same team we played last weekend that has a kid that's a bit taller and much bigger than him. It was so fun to watch him take on this bigger kid and still dominate. We won by over 20 points. The other "big" was actually a really nice kid though and I enjoyed talking to his parents after the game. Hopefully we see them more over the season.
