New Life- Week 67,68, and 69 (Catch Up)

It's been a while!  I think this might be the longest I have gone without blogging expect when I have had a baby so let me explain my absence.  First, two weeks ago was the 4th of July.  We went to Emily and Tala's for an epic bbq.  We had burgers and philly cheesesteak.  We played games, made smores, and did "poppers" (fireworks were banned this year).  While it was great a time, I was got too tied up to get the blog done.  I figured it was just one week, no biggie...

Fast forward one week.  Last Sunday was Colvin's birthday.  For his birthday he wanted to play a family softball game after church.  We went and played and had a great time.  Then the adults started to peter out and the kids were still playing.  Eventually some 14u boys from a tournament began to drift over.  They were batting while Colvin pitched to them.  In a freak accident, one of the boys let go of the bat while swinging and it flew into the dugout and hit me in the forehead.  I was down and out for the rest of the day, but thankfully I didn't get a concussion or have any long term damage.

So now, having explained my absence, what has happened over the last three weeks?

We have gone bowling a few times.  I signed the kids up for kids bowl free and so we can go whenever we want and only have to pay for shoes.  Elsie has gotten her first taste of bowling and, unsurprisingly, she likes to do it herself.  We do have to worry sometimes if her ball is actually going to make it all the way down the lane, but so far it has.

We have gone on walks almost everyday and played at lots of parks.  One day we walked to a park about a mile away.  At the park a kitty attached itself to us and followed us home.  Thankfully Jeremy stopped to get us on our way home so the kitty didn't follow the entire way.  I don't know that Millie would have been too pleased with that addition to our family. Another day we hiked down to the river and Millie got to play in the river with a new friend.  She liked that better than the cat for sure.

The other big news is that we got our house painted.  It is such an improvement over what it was and we are loving the change.  Jeremy and I even worked together to DIY some new house numbers (ignore our messy garage).

Perhaps the craziest thing we did was remove almost 7 tons of wood from my parents yard and level their front yard with a ditch witch.  It was a LOT of work.

I think that's about all for now.  Next week we will be in Seattle for a baseball tournament so hopefully I will get a chance to squeeze in a blog post. Bye for now.
