Forewarning, this is going to be a mega photo dump, with that in mind I will try to keep the words brief. This week was amazing and EXHAUSTING. Tuesday afternoon we left for California. We got in late in the evening after a layover and then had to navigate getting an Uber with our many, many bags before finally crashing at our hotel.
Wednesday, we hit the ground running and got up at 6 to make it to rope drop at Disneyland. I have never done rope drop (I didn't even know it was a thing until recently). We burned rubber in the morning and took advantage of short lines. By 10:30 we were all wondering if it was dinnertime yet. We continued to go, go, go and even ate lunch while standing in line for the Star Wars ride. By actual dinnertime we were all exhausted. We tried to stretch the day with a ride on the monorail, but ended up just watching the parade and headed back to the hotel before 8. Even still, I logged over 26,000 steps (quite a number of which were logged with Elsie in my arms).
Thursday, we did rope drop round 2, this time at California Adventure. The highlight of this day was Cars land and the Soarin' ride. Jeremy and Merrick also loved the drop in the Guardians of the Galaxy ride. We made it later on Thursday because we were really holding out for the World of Color show. We ended up making it to about 9:45 and logged about 23,000 steps.
Friday, we did not make rope drop. We intentionally decided to sleep in. Apparently, Elsie didn't get the memo and woke up at 6:45 so while we didn't get to rope drop, we also didn't really get a lot of sleep. We were back at Disneyland on Friday. I called it the deep cuts day. We did all the lesser demand rides, all the kiddy rides in Fantasy Land and all the things that made Elsie happy. We tried to make it to the fireworks show but petered out a little early. We did make it long enough to watch it snow on Mainstreet and got to see Minnie before we left. We made it to about 9:20 and logged about 19,000 steps.
Saturday we drove to Arizona to see all our Arizona family (although Jeff and Carolyn met us in California). While I wasn't really looking forward to a 6 hour drive, it was nice to be forced to sit for 6 hours. We made it in time for my niece, Capri's, second birthday party.
It's been a whirlwind but a serious blast! I need a nap!
